P84® Fibres
By
Evonik Fibres GmbH    The base material for P84 fibres is composed of aromatic backbone units only. Despite the non melting aromatic, halogen free structure it is classified as non flammable with a LOI of 38%. Due to its outstanding chemical and physical properties P84 fibres are used for a variety of applications ranging from filter media for high temperature filtration , protective clothing, sealing …

P84® Engineering Material
By
Evonik Fibres GmbH    P84 as a base material for engineered parts is used due to its outstanding temperature and chemical resistance. It can be processed either by using the fiber material or the powder.

P84® Solution

9th International Conference on High Temperature Filtration
September 24th—26th, 2008

This year’s 9th International Conference on High Temperature Filtration will once again take place at one of the most picturesque locations in Austria.  The Hotel Gut Brandlhof in the mountains of Saalfelden, Austria, will be our host in the Fall of 2008, September 24th thru the 26th.  The conference topic selected is “Coal, biomass and alternative fuels - challenges and solutions”.
At this point, we have a “call for papers”.  If you feel your company would have technical issues that would focus on this year’s topic, please let us know of your interest.  As always, we will be selective on those papers as we are not able to have all the presentations due to time constraints.  Please keep these dates available to attend as the conference is two-fold;  great presentations and beautiful scenery!

27,000 P84 Bags Installed in Coleto Creek Power Plant Plant

An Alstom Power project, Coleto Creek Power Station, a 632-megawatt coal-fired power plant in Goliad County Texas, has procured over27,000 P84 filter bags.  The bags installed 2nd quarter 2007, are constructed from a 16.0 oz, scrim supported, 100%P84.  Operating temperatures for the unit is estimated at 370F continuous with peaks as high as 395F.
Also news is that  International Power plc and South Texas Electric Cooperative (STEC) announced their partnership and filed for a permit, with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, to build and operate a 650 MW second electric power generating unit at International Power's Coleto Creek plant in South Texas. The planned schedule is to be up and running in 5 years from now.
